Support the arts, history, culture & community!
We are the first museum in Connecticut to focus exclusively on the art and artists of the state. We are one of the state’s oldest museums, established as the Mattatuck Historical Society in 1877, and one of the first in the state to be accredited by the American Association of Museums.
Museum collections include paintings and art by Connecticut artists, the history of the region, over 10,000 buttons, the Calder Corner, a giant sculpture by Alexander Calder, on loan from the Calder Foundation, community oral histories and more!
